Sweden Dynamics participated in Vinnova's demonstration day in Västervik, showcasing its AI-enabled autonomous drone swarm technology alongside five other selected teams following eight months of intensive development.
The event highlighted the rapid progress being made in autonomous systems, with demonstrations showing how multiple drones can collaborate autonomously to solve complex tasks in real time. By operating as coordinated swarms rather than individual platforms, drones can monitor large areas, support early fire detection, track moving objects and provide enhanced situational awareness in environments that are difficult or hazardous to access.
The demonstration formed part of Vinnova's investment in radical innovation in drone technology, an initiative aimed at accelerating the development of autonomous systems that can strengthen both societal resilience and future defence capabilities.
For Sweden Dynamics, the event provided an opportunity to demonstrate the company's expertise in AI-enabled autonomous systems and swarm technology. As demand for intelligent, collaborative unmanned systems continues to grow across both military and civilian sectors, autonomous swarms represent a significant step forward in operational capability.
The demonstration day brought together participants from industry, academia and the public sector, highlighting the importance of collaboration and real-world testing in accelerating innovation. The next phase of the programme will focus on moving the demonstrated technologies from successful trials towards operational deployment.
Sweden Dynamics was one of six organisations selected to participate in the initiative, alongside Qamcom, Qulinda, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, AIICS at Linköping University and Cube Squared. The programme is delivered by Vinnova in collaboration with WASP, Combitech and Västervik Drone Science Park.
