On Sweden's National Day, Sweden Dynamics introduced David 02, the latest addition to the company's growing family of multi-role unmanned aerial systems.
Designed around Sweden Dynamics' multi-role concept, David 02 is a fast and agile 18–20-inch drone developed to transport critical payloads when speed is essential. With the ability to carry 4–6 kg of mission equipment, the platform combines high speed, rapid acceleration and manoeuvrability with both manual and autonomous operation.
David 02 is designed to deliver equipment, sensors and other mission-critical payloads to locations where conventional logistics solutions are too slow, vulnerable or resource-intensive. The platform is suited for a range of defence, security and emergency response applications where rapid deployment can be decisive.
Like the company's Adam 02 and Bertil 02 platforms, David 02 is built on Sweden Dynamics' JASF architecture, a common design philosophy centred on modularity, interoperability and mission adaptability. While Adam 02 provides an individual, user-centric capability and Bertil 02 extends operational range and endurance, David 02 expands the portfolio with a platform optimised for rapid logistics and time-critical missions.
In addition to its operational role, David 02 has been developed as an open and adaptable platform. Its larger airframe and modular architecture enable the integration of customer-specific sensors, software and mission systems, allowing organisations to tailor the platform to their own operational requirements.
The launch reflects Sweden Dynamics' continued commitment to developing Swedish-built autonomous systems that address real operational needs across defence, public safety and civil protection.
